RE: New broadheads??Need Advice

I shoot Magnus stingers 100gr, they have a lifetime warranty and with my set up they fly as true as field tips, and they were at the time only $21. for 6 of them. I got mine from Ted Nugent's web site. I bought them 5 years ago or so and still haven't had to replace any of them. The first deer I harvested with them was a fork horn buck right under my stand,I don't know exactly how it happened but I hit both lungs cut the tip of his heart off went through his back leg and stuck several inches in the ground. He went about 20 yards and fell over. The next deer I harvested was a 7 pointer I center punched his heart at 10 yards he ran about 70 yards and expired 10 feet from my truck LOL I love it when that happens. Anyway just another for you to think about.

Kool I will take a look at those as well. As I said my new bow is faster then my previous bows. Some of the guys at my local pro shop lonesome road in taylor told me some fixed blade heads on a fast bow have their own mind. So I appreciate any info on this.

I think My bow shoots 284 fps I don't know if your bow is much faster or not and if it is if it will make much difference with broadheads I was telling you about

Ok kool. With my arrows being a little heavier spined I have to find a heavier broadhead. Im using easton axis 300s 28" with 2" fletching. And with the new bow I have not chronoed the arrows yet. But I would imagine being set at 70# 29" with my commander Id probably be in the same ballpark as you.

I was gonna go with slick tricks 100 gr but they were all out at the time. The Pro shop recommended Shuttle T-locs and I decided to try them as far as going fixed blade. I picked up the last pack of 100 gr and they really do fly awesome. Oh yeah regarding spine, I am pulling 71# and I am using Easton Axis ST Nanos in a 340 and have no problems at all.

Kool thats 2 in the Shuttle T-locs. The only thing Ive heard back about those is you need perfect shot placement or they dont penetrate..is that true.

I havent heard anything bad regarding the Shuttle T-locs other than they make a decent hole. The local proshop guy uses them personally and loves them. The Bowtech shop up where I hunt just gave them raving reviews as well and I see the deer he gets with them. I have been tossing around what to get for the last 3 weeks and it was a toss up between the slick tricks and the shuttles so we'll see how they perform for me.

I shoot the G5 Strikers and I get great penetration and bone breaking ability ( I hit one in the spine and it passed through.)

Ryan.
