Default NJ doe on the ground

Yesterday was the first day I got the chance to get out. All set in my tree by 4:00... at around 4:45 I can see a nice doe moving my way, but she is about 60 yards away, across the power lines. At 5:30 she was now in range and turned broadside. Smack! Down she went within view.
Now I have one for the freezer and it is time to hunt for a Buck.
I would love to have the chance to get a nice one still in velvet, but the chances are getting slim for that as they are startingcoming out of velvet already.

Congrats, it's always nice to get that first one on the ground for the year just for a confidence booster and to know you can still do it!
