i just had possibly the worst day of my hunting career this afternoon. i've killed several deer rifle hunting, so i figured hey stickin one with a bow won't be too hard, right? wrong! i'm learning lessons the hard way. today i was in a ground blind, thought i had the perfect spot, but neglected to check the wind like i usually do every hunt. just my luck, two does came out about thirty yards away, with the wind blowin right at them. just as i was drawing back on what i thought would be my first ever bow kill, one of them winded me, blew, and took off. i figured, hey its still early i'll just slip through the woods to another stand. well i was almost in that stand, looked up just in time to see another doe stomp, blow, and take off. not to mention on the way back to the truck it started raining on me [
]but i'm not giving up by any means, now i'm just pissed. i'm headed right back out tomorrow and hope to get one. sorry for the long post, just needed to vent.

I got to work all day, our season isn't in yet so, boo hoo, the old saying the worst day hunting is better than the best day at work comes to mind.

Don't be pissed about it, think about it in a different light....you have obviously put up 2 stand locations that deer use or travel through, that in itself is a major accomplishment for a beginning bowhunter. Just use it as a learning tool and hone in on it, you'll succeed sooner rather than later.

If your frustrated now........ WAIT....... your just getting started. You have to be much closer than any other form of hunting. Thats what makes it harder............ and more exciting

That doesn't sound too bad, actually. I had to work, you got to hunt.
Lighten up an enjoy tomorrow's hunt.... If things start to get "bad" just think --- most of us are at work.
Good Luck!
