Shawn and I will be hunting this buck opening morning most likely.
This deer looks like a "Dink" compared to the others....just curious as to why you, who has the potential to shoot way bigger deer would even consider taking this deer this year and not giving him one more year? Don't get me wrong, he is a very nice deer, but I'd think your own "standards" would cause you to pass on him until next yr. I wish I had the "menu" of Monsters you have running around;)

The only reason that we might shoot this deer is because he is the most predictible and is on a property that we might not have much longer. He does need another year, thats for sure...BUT, hes very patternable for opening morning. Were not going to hunt him hard or anything, but were going to give it a shot early. He'll make a good moviestar! ;)

Oh, ok, that explains it, just since I've joined this site, I know you have the rep. as beingcovered in Huge Deer year in and year out....and this deer wasn't in that same"class". Good luck, looking forward to the "After the shot" story on him.;)

But he filled out nicely in this pic.

That is one reason I am not a big fan of velvet bucks. He almost looks skrawny in velvet.
