Not familiar with your local laws, but I don't see how the county has that authority.

They don't have that authority, plain and simple. Regs are set by the state. It even says in the article there will be no legal reprocussions. You just might have to drive out of the county to get a meal or gas.

In fact, if you were harrassed, you could probably bring the hunter harrassment laws into play and turn the tables on them.

To me what they are saying is shoot these deer. You know that when somebody says that you can't do it, they will try to do it anyway. With no legal rights to protect them, I would think that those two deer are goners. It won't be taken by any locals either. Somebody from the surrounding area will come in and shot them.

But, Francioli warned, residents' attachment to the piebalds is such that offenders "will probably be admonished and never let into Hanover again."
I'd like to see that one hold up in court.

If someone were to be lucky enough to shoot either of these two deer I think that they should make it known, I know I would. Franciolo wouldn't have a legal leg to stand on in court. Hedoubt he has anylegal jurisdictionwhat so ever making or enforcing statelaws concerning wild life.

Not always. The regs in the state of WV allow for Sunday Hunting. The individual counties then decide if they will allow it.
Most of the counties in WV do not allow Sunday Hunting[:'(]

I think the person that shoots one of these deer will be a local. I just hope he/she doenst make a point to "stir the pot" and flaunt his harvest in an attempt to put the antis in a frenzy.

It just sucks that the antis have such a handle on our government.
Your already letting them get "in your head"...If I lived there, I'd shoot one of them and drive through those quite, quaint, save the treessub divisons with thetailgate down. Sorry, had to vent, they just really piss me off and get under my skin.

I'd mount it and put it in my yard. This bothers me because its something so little and then before you know it were not going to be able to hunt at all.
