I've been trying to NOT buy one of these things and I've been successful to this point. Diesel PM's me and tells me to make sure I bring mine down east for our hunt Saturday. Says the skeetrs are DC-10 sized, there.

Man just buy one. You'll think that your completly covered untillthe skeeters fly off with you. Just break down and get one. Walmart has them pretty cheap. Where I hunt it's by a swamp, and they are brutal there.

We're hunting Bertie County.....near our coast (NC). He's afraid with all the Hannah rain that the skeeters are planning a billion skeeter march.
The billion skeeter march is true.........Jeff, If you do not get one you will seriously regret it. I can not hunt a day without mine now, since I bought it two years ago. These suckers down here dont play, I wen tin the yard for 10 minutes yesterday......got bit at least 10 times.

Like I said....on my way out the door to pick one up, right now.

Thanks for all of your help, guys. I'll give it a review.....but I won't know how much good it will do. I've apparently never experienced anything like this since the Red Cross Blood drive I attended in the Spring.

Diesel PM's me and tells me to make sure I bring mine down east for our hunt Saturday.

I cover up from head to toe....except for a small area around my eyes. Do I REALLY need one.....for a one-day hunt?

I hate these things.....
Listen you knucklhead, youre surrounded by water and swamps, and a tropical storm just rolled thru days ago. Ive hunted these same farms before when it was dry conditions. You will have a much more enjoyable hunt if you have one with you, just my opinion which you can certainly not take. I'll buy it from when youre done, 50% discount of course cause its used, but we can hash that out later [8D]

Leave it off as long as you can just to see how much of a man you are tough guy. Heehee, this is gonna be great!! I'll make sure I get pictures of all the skeeter bites on Jeff. I tied to leave mine off down there and I was completely covered, buzzing my ears, getting in my eyes and mask, my wrist, F that. I didnt last 5 minutes no BS, that was like torture.

You are Anti-Thermacell and yet, you have never used one...

That's funny right there...

I grew up and still hunt in Gates County, near Bertie...Mine is strapped to my climber, don't go deer hunting without it...

Don't buy one...

Let us know how the trip goes, good luck...
I have to agree. lol

Jeff, let me put it to you this way, before I bought mine I was cover from head to toe also, but remember, there will still be a million of then buzzing around your body and even if you don't get bitten by any of then it will drive you nuts. With the ThermaCELL, you might see 1-2 mosquitoes every 30 minutes. IMO it's worth it.

OK...I'm picking one up on the way home from my bowshop.

How long does one "cartridge" last? How many come in the box?

How heavy is the worthless piece of **** gonna be to lug around in my pack?.....lol
In the box there is, 1 ThermaCELL, 1 Butane cartridge, and three "felt" pads. The butane will last for 12 hours and the felt pads will last 4 hours each.

Glad you've seen the light Jeff. Using a thermacell is like finding Jesus.... you'll wonder how you ever survived before.
