Default Please help with topo map

I plan to hunt a portion of the property mapped below. The property is south of the hwy, east of Little Bayou and west of theTrinity river. I am not very familiar with topo maps so any help would be appreciated. What areas look good to set up in? When I begin scouting the area (I cant scout the area until 2 weeks before bow season ) any suggestions on what to look for and where to begin. Thanks for everyones help on a previous post regarding this same property.

imbac:

I know you don't know......but the lines on the topo maps show elevation change. You're looking at an area SO FLAT.......that there is hardly any change, whatsoever! Notice the VERY wide distances between gradation lines?

In this instance.......and unless someone else feel sdifferently......a topo map woud be of little use to you. This reminds me of the reverse of a crowned football field.

Bruce, like GMMAT said, not much going on here. The best you can do is get out there and walk the elevated areas and see what you can find.

An aerial photo will be the best help here, as GMMAT said its too flat to be of any signifigance. try to get an aerial off of google or your county interactive platmap website. This would show inside corners, funnels, fields...etc.

That looks like some of the East Texas land I have hunted in the past!!!! Do some foot work when they let you get on the place.....Look for the usual signs and ask questions then!!!
