O.K. where do you practice? I go out back in the yard, I live in town now and you should have seen the neighbors looks when I pulled out the target and rig. People would go inside an look out the windows at me and my sons shoot (inside a 6' wood privacy fence) with amazement. We can get a 45yd corner to corner shooting lane out back. Used to live in the country and nobody knew if we shot or not. Lets just say since myself and my sons have had conversations with all the neighbors about what we were doing and why(food,outdoors friends) that they became relaxed. We told them we wont shoot any with people out in their yard by fence area and we dont shoot anywhere but at the target. They have even let their kids come over and watch and soot with us.I guess I just didn't relize how many people dont hunt/shoot at all and don't understand. All it took was a little common courtesy and now we are neighbers that hunt not FREAKS who shoot in their back yard..

I'm glad that turned out ok for you, normally it is illegal to shoot a bow within city limits. I too shoot in my backyard even though it is illegal. I'm lucky that my neighbors all understand and even though I live down the street from the Copshop, they've never given me a problem.

another back yard and in the corner a 12 X 12 yard barn. A 3' diameter utikity pole sits right in my corner and would stop a pass through but I have placed two 4X8 sheets of 3/4 plywood in front of the pole and behind the target. I know where you were headed with that GMMAT, and we also have strict rules in the "yard" and if 'Ya break em ya don com back" PERIOD.....

Where I was headed is.....

My son has let a few get away from him in our yard....and sent arrows WAY over our intended target (Over my target is 25acres of woods). I bounced on off the back of my 3D buck, just this year.

I wish you luck....but you're playing with fire, there.....and if an errant arrow hits someone it could do more than "break" 'em.

I have lost two arrows this year when I have been drawing back and clipped my release. One of them flew WAY over the target. I agree with Jeff. You are playing with fire. You can't unshoot and arrow.

Good point. My father had his release fail on him earlier this year as he he was drawing back - it sent an arrow into the side of our neighbors garage. The area the target is at isrelatively safe with several hay bails and some plywood sheets as well, but we had never thought about the "over the top" scenario.

There is a public range in the middle of town here.

Go shoot anywhere else and the cops will be on you like stink on....[8D]

I understand your concern but have had a problem in 3yrs, and I have one boy who out scored me in techno hunt 1 week ago. I guess what i'm saying is we are careful and dont shoot regulary unless its a time when nobodys around, 4 of my neighbors are older and rarely go outside at all and the one behind me(corner) is on the road all the time. It''s not theO.K. corral here and like I said break the rules and you stay out... no exceptions

I guess it's a good thing I don't live in LIBERAL huggy kissey land.
