Don't get very many big bucks down here in Florida but we do get to see things that can't be seen elsewhere. These are pics of Space shuttle Atlantis as she was beeing rolled out to the launch pad this morning. We're getting her ready to go on a repair mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Doesn't matter how many times I see that, still makes feel like I am a kid. Awesome.

That thing the space shuttle is sitting on is insane. It moves it like a mile away to launch i heard.

It's three miles out to the pad and it takes about 8 hours to get there. The crawler that takes it there was featured on Dirty Jobs; diesel engines, hydraulic pumps and hundreds of gallons of grease.They actually let Mike Rowe drive it, without a Shuttle on top of it of course. The crawlers and the mobile launch platforms that sit on them are the same ones that launched the Apollo missions to the moon.
