You have a deer at 15 yds.....

You're in your treestand......20' up. You have a deer at 15yds. There is ONE small limb in your way when you bend at the waist and settle your pin.

What can you do?

Don't stand up and shoot from sitting....that or just wait. :)

For the sake of this exercise......we'll assume it's 2/3 way out.....or 30'.

I assume that you would be at full draw at the time you realize that the limb is in the way. Being at full draw w/ a deer that close makes sitting down difficult (unless you drew back sitting down). I would squata fewinches and let her fly.

Where's the rub if the archer squats 3" (from the knees)but maintains the same angle?

Personally, I would just move around and still take the shot. I practice from standing, at sharp angles etc... However, I wouldn't suggest the above to a novice.

There would be no rub!!!! If you keep the upper body form, squatting would not affect your shot!!!!

I suppose if you're comfortable and have practiced shooting from various positions. I know I've shot a few times practicing with me squatting somewhat, and I certainly can't hold nearly as long, but if you were confident in it, I suppose it would be fine. I would probably just wait it out.
