Adjustable single pin users...

Im using a TR Micro GS Vdrive this year, I like the sight, but im not impressed with the quality... not what im getting at though. What is your routine in preparing for a shot on a live deer?
Im thinking if given the time, range deer, adjust pin, and shoot.
But if I feel like the deer doesnt want tostick around, Im thinking of having my pin set on 30(really depending on what stand Im hunting).Ranging the deer, and compensating the difference.
Just curious to your routine.

I don't know anything about that sight. I shoot an HHA but anyways.... #1 range your possible shooting lanes once you get into your stand so you don't have to range on the fly. #2 I leave it at 30 yards and compensate in aiming if a quick shot happens. #3 Usually I can anticipate where I'm going to make the shot and move it (and/or even range it exactly) before the deer gets there. #4 Move/and range it while the deer is standing there and you have time. The atribute I hate about the one pin adjustable is-The deer is at 37 yards and I have work to do with movement involved on my part.
I use a cobra 6 pin sight on an adjustableslider so I can adjust after 70 yards.

Your sight sounds like a sports car
. I set mine for what ever my bushwhack spot is, and know where to aim 5 or 10 yards farther. I have one just in case I need to set up on a field edge for some reason.

I just put an HHA on mine and I have been out to 50 yards dead on. now I was wondering the same thing you are. I have been set at 20yds and shooting 30 very well, I will now be going to set at 30 and shoot 15 and 40. I think doing this really gets you intune with your equipment. I think I am going to miss having more pins though, I keep thinking of that big surprise at 10 yrds and I am set at 20 or 30.
