The second day of the ND archery season was extremely hot with temperatures near 100 degrees. I set up not far from a spring in an alfalfa field and was able to arrow this giant 8 point! He came out and fed by the ground blind at 27.5 yards. A double lung hit had the buck down within 50 yards! He is 22" inside and close to 26" outside spread. He will gross around 145".

Nice deer but stop letting everyone know we have good deer in the Dakotas. Tell people u got it in iowa or something.;) We have to many hunting lodges the way it is. You going to hunt the Black Hills. Bucks seem to be getting a little bigger around there. I got some training in Rapid in mid october. Going to stay for a couple days and fill one of my tags hopefully.
