That is an awesome whitetail my friend. I just got back from North Dakota. Gotta love hunting in August! We killed two opening night...the weather was great. I tried videoiong my buddy nate the next few nights and the heat and wind just kept the deer from moving too much...looks like it didnt bother that deer though!

Just a general question for everyone....

This is nice 8 with no doubt, but shouldn't there be some kinda of deduction for a buck in velve?
The velvet itself add's Circumference and some length to the tines....

Just curious. What's everyone's thoughts on this....

I dont think that you can get a velvet buck "officially" scored. In order for it to count for the record books i believe you have to strip it off.

That being said, the velvet really adds very little to the rack, maybe 3" or so....It does make it LOOK a lot bigger cause the velvet sticks out but when you put a tape around it, it flattens down and really doesnt add that much to the score...
