RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I am shooting the wasp 100 grain boss this year, like the design seems to have good reviews ... I am also a fan of the stinger buzzcuts
|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I do like the Muzzy's as I have used them the last three years. This year I did start shooting the G5 Striker Broadhead this year. They fly very well and will be using them for the upcoming season.

RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I started using Montecs 2 seasons ago. They are a very tough broadhead and fly true. Some people have complained about a slight whistling noise why in flight but it has never seemed to bother me that much. If you would rather try the G5 Strikers, they too fly true, are tough, and don't seem to make the noise. However, they have replaceable blades so you may only get 1 deer per head, but they do make replaceable blades.
I tried the Rage out one afternoon last year and thought they were junk so I threw them in the trash. I shot a buck and it did not fully deploy, and didn't have any penetration hardly. I saw the deer a few weeks later and it was perfectly healthy, but it put an end to me using any mechanical heads. |
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
4 blade Stingers.

|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I have shot Muzzy's for years, but I just got the Slick Tricks today. I haven't shot them yet, but they have gotten rave reviews.
|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
Go with muzzy.
|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
Muzzy is very hard to beat if you are already a fan!!
|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I shoot ST's and love them. They flew great with my set-up with minimal tuning. I have taken several animals..... 1 bear and 3 deer with them. Blood trails are good. I don't think anybody has been disappointed with there performance or durability.
How about this. Buy 2 heads that you like and shoot them. Figure out what you like..... and the bow. |
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I like the Rage 2 blade or for fixed I use the Crimson Talon.
|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
Mech. Rage 2 blade

RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I'm still shooting the old style 3 blade Muzzy.
|
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
ORIGINAL: StruttinGobbler3 but i've come to realize other companies have surpassed them in performance and quality. While there are many many different quality heads out there I think Muzzy has been an Icon in the history of fixed blade heads and quality with Muzzy is top notch as it has always been. I personally used Muzzy 100gr 3 blade for years, then I finally switched to something I now like better.... Muzzy 125gr. 3 blade. I could switch to another broadhead but why? I don't like to mix and match stuff, I have several Muzzy heads and extra blades, when I switch I'll get rid of what I have and have felt no need to do that with the Muzzys'. The Wasp...they're good too, I used to shoot their older version years ago before they adopted the chisel tip..hmm wonder where they got that idea? Would I switch to another fixed blade head? Heck no... but I might switch to another type of head for a special hunt(anything tougher than deer)probably cut on contact. No mechanicals for me thank you, I don't care how big the cutting diameter is. ![]() |
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
There is not a better 4 blade fixed broadhead than slick trick on the market. Great product, took countless animals with them. I did, however, switch to a Rage 2 blade this past year, and I am not looking back. I think I will continue with Slick Trick for heavier game (ELK and up), but for whitetails as my prime animal, the Rage's are outrageous.

RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
Me to...the Rage 2 blade is tough to beat (except on price of course);). When you shootoneor 2and messthem up........buy the pack of replacement blades, fix your 2 shot heads and then convert your blue practice head into a real broadhead simply by swapping out the blade set. ;) I have 2 packs of rage heads and 1 pack of replacement blades.......fixed up one shot head and then converted the 2 practice heads into useable broadheads. The blue broadhead looks pretty cool too. :D |
RE: Everyones Favorites!!!!
I cant believe how well my G5 strikers performed. Ill be picking up another pack of these and a pack of montecs soon as well.
So that leaves me with Strikers and 2 blade rages in my quiver. |
