the area i planned to hang my stand is by a creek the activity by the creek as went down. season is more then amonth off and it could get better.
I had planned to hang my stand off a well used trail that seems to have less activity then before.
I intended to hang it the first week of sept.

I will also be getting a pop up.

I thought of two things wait to hang the stand till say the 21st of sept one week before hunting season and see what happens then.

Or wait to hang the stand use the pop up to set up off 40 yards or so from the trail and watch the deer.

Or just hang the stand where i intended to and cross my fingers and toes.
This is my only stand. it will be the main site i hunt except during a bad wind or when i just choice to hunt a differnt area from the pop up

It depends on if you are hunting private or public land. I have already hung all six of mine, and my season opener is October 4. I think the earlier the better. Deer get used to seeing it (if they can), instead of something new in their environment.

I bet 85% of bowhunters already have theirs up by now

I've got my stand up, but I hunt on private land. Four of the stands stay up all year round. The other three I put up a few weeks ago. My opening day is Oct 1. (The 7 stands are for 4 hunters)

I HUNT public land a fish and wildlife area and can not hang it till after sept 1st

Mine are all up. Been at it like a mad man for a few weeks. Feels good to be done. The only problem is I have a disease. It's called Ican'tStopBuyingStandsToHang.

Since you're using a ladder stand AND you're on public land. I wouldn't hang it any earlier than 1 week before...but that's just me.

You hate to get your stand jacked by some knuckle head but you also want the deer to have time to get used to it...its a catch 22 man.

I thought I was the only one with this disease

I left 6 up last year and have 4 more to put up. I plan to get them all knocked out tomorrow... I went in today and cut my shooting lanes for the 6 that were left there..
