Hey LW stand guys.....
I saw the straps that came with the stand and knew I wanted something more. Someone suggested the ones Grey Wolf Woolens is selling....and I ordered them.
They came in, today. They are comfy.....easily adjustable....and were easily installed. Installed in 2 minutes.... ![]() Easily adjustable when you pack up.....cinches up, easily for packing in or out. ![]() It's really easy to let one side out loose for ease of getting off your back. I also LOVE that, unlike my summit, I don't have to undo the straps, entirely.....and then have to re-thread them, each time. Thumbs up on this design. ![]() ![]() And the padding is great. I can already tell why you guys love packing this better than the summits. How/where it rides on your back is awesome. ![]() These straps aren't a have to have.....but they sure are nice. I don't regret buying them.....and they look like I'll get years of service from them. Hats off to GWW for providing something like this to us. I have NO TIES to Grey Wolf Woolens......in the least...lol.[8D] |
RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
How much does that sit and climb weigh? I just got a Lone Wolf Assault and it only weighs about 9 lbs. I've done some test hiking and the stock straps are fine since it's so light. I will found out for sure this season when I get some longer hikes. That design looks excellent though.

I'm glad you're enjoying your stand..best of luck with it!!

RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
Is the assault a climber?

RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
No it's a hang on. I use it as a tool on long walks as a portable stand. Plus I can get up in a lot of trees that I can't with my climber.

RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
I carry 10 tree steps that weigh 5 lbs total in my fanny pack. The weight around my waist doesn't bother me...it's the 25 lbs of climber and stuff I hold in it that makes me sweat. Walking in with this little weight on my back is a breeze, my climbable trees has gone up dramatically and after a little practice it doesn't take me much more time than my climber to get set up.
I can't wait to use it in a "live" hunting situation. |
RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
Cool. Whatever works for you. I think this one weighs 19#'s.

RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
Jeff, do you plan on using the built in bow holder? If so, you might want to get one of the rubber grommets. It protects your bow, and keeps things quiet.

RE: Hey LW stand guys.....
Nope. Won't use it. I'll either use the Primos bow hook or the LW accessory that cinches around the tree. Whichever one I use I'll just store it in the little saddlebag.
