Play/Watch PSP while on the stand?
 

Since I will be sitting on my stands all day this year I have thought about buying a PSP to keep me entertained. Also, I've thought about buying a one bud ear piece, so I could still hear noise out of one ear.

Just curious ifanyone else uses one? Plus, I could watch movies off of this thing too. I saw they just came out with the blue PSP nfl model and I thought it would be nice to have on the stand. :)

I was reading a book once, and had that funny feeling I was being watched. I looked up and a doe was staring right at me! I'll just daydream, listen to the birds and squirells!

I do nothing except look for deer when I'm on stand. I do no reading, no texting, no playing of games, no nothing! I'm there for the sole purpose of killing a deer, and enjoying the woods. Period. I must admit, I have dozed off very briefly a few times. Purely by accident though.;)

I don't think it is a bad idea....esp if you can do it without getting too into it and stay on the ready. It seems just abut every guy or gal you see on tv is usually playing some handheld poker or something of that nature. Me, I spend all of my time thinking up witty things to text message to my fellow hunting buddies, knowing they are doing the same thing.

last year i had enough trouble watching for deer had a 4 point and a 9 point get right infront of me before i saw them if i was playing psp i bet he would come infront of me have soem fun with a doe give me the finger and walk off before i saw him

but i do not think it would hurt you besides keeping your mind on deer and not a game.

Me ... Id rather just enjoy sitting ina tree, feelin the wind, and relaxin in nature. (hell thats 90% of the hunt IMO)

Sort of defeats the purpose of hunting in my opinion but if you want to it is your hunt so go for it.

I have been guilty of listening to a radio while in a blind before, but it was a completely enclosed blind not a tree stand.

I read all the time, turkey hunting. I'll read some, this year, deer hunting.....probably a good courtroom drama.

When it costs me a great buck....I'll quit. Also....it help me get to sleep[8D]

That's one reason to go hunting. To GET AWAY from all this crap!

I just look for deer! They are hard enough to spot and be ready for without being distracted by a video game.

I agree. I'll just sit and try to pick apart the woods. Seeing the littlestbugs or animals when focusing is an enjoyment for me.

i do alot of texting with my brother and play a god bit of Texas Hold em on my cell while hunting but usually only during slow times. But i cant fall asleep only did it once and when i woke there were 8 deer standing under my tree so havent did that since even tho i wish i could somedays!;)

As far as I go is a magazine or book. If you gotta bring PSP in the woods then you need to stay home asn play with your PSP.... wtf is a PSP??

I'm a big tech guy. I love technology, learning about it, playing with it, etc. However, when I go into the woods, I want to be away from it all. Hunting is simple (relatively speaking), and I want to keep it that way. Like others have said though, whatever floats your boat.

I have a psp and took it deer hunting with me twice last year. I have to admit as much as I enjoy playing it. I couldn't enjoy it will hunting because I was to worried that I would get busted while I was playingit. Once was while bowhunting and the next was while rifle hunting in a enclosed box stand and still coulnd't enjoy it.

Playstation Portable. It's a handheld game system. It also has Wifi, mp3, and video capabilities. Like a little portable media center.

if you bought a psp for on stand you can buy a camo cover for it too lol go to skinit.com and they have crap camo patterns out there for it but it if hides your psp go right ahead man

I just got an iPhone 3g. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the GPS will work for hunting purposes. I've got games, books, weather, movies, music, maps, email, etc. I have to admit it is pretty dang awesome. I don't know how much I'll use while on stand, but I could use it for just about anything. Idea... what if I put a doe bleat sound on the iPod and played it through the external speakers!:D JK!

I would rather just sit and listen myself... Seems like the deercould here the movies or games playing. I am not going to take a chance of scaring a buck that comes within range of me.

I have been known to send out the occasional text, but as far as reading or playing a video game that is beyond anything I'd ever do on stand.

I take mine during the rut and all day sits. Say what you want...I can only watch so many squirrels and birds and stare at the same trees so long. During the rut, I hunt for 2-3 weeks, every day, all day (or very close to it). There are a lot of hours there that there is no deer moving...and I get bored as heck.

I bought one just for deer season last year hasn't hurt my hunting yet it has helped I don't use an ear piece I just mute the sound and it keeps me on stand longer. I don't usually pull it out until about 10:00am when I start getting bored if I'm not seeing deer then I can usualy make it till noon once I start playing I can still here everything around me and I don't get to wrapped up in the game.

Me and my buddies usually text back and forth letting each other know what we're seeing. That's about the extent of my technology that I take with me. I have taken a book a few times, but it's never been taken out of the bag.

I have played a few games on my phone while hunting to keep from getting bored. I just got a new phone with the mp3 player so I might try that a little too at times but I dont want to miss something cause I am listening to music either
