Fletching own arrows
 

I was just curious who fletches their own arrows, and would it be worth the extra money to buy a fletching jig to do it yourself. Would it save money over the long run?

Its part of the sport and it is easy if you follow the basics!
I use a Jo Jan does six at one time talk to your pro shop
they can get you set u!!

Absolutely worth every penny you spend on a good quality jig and fletches. Somebody has probably figured it out but even if it costs more it is still worth buying raw shafts and building your own you won' t believe the difference in your arrow flight especially if you have trouble with your broadheads. you will still get slight difference' s in the raw shafts but put them aside and use for target only. If you don' t get into it too much it is still worth buying a GOOD QUALITY jig jo jan bitzenburger and there are some others, it will pay for itself just by fixing your knock around arrows.

I fletch my own arrows. I pretty much do it for convenience purposes more than anything. I' ve used a Jo Jan for years and recently switched to an Arizona EZ fletcher....works great.

I fletch my own because it' s convenient for me and i love to tinker anyway. I like the ideal of being able to fletch an arrow when i tear it up instead of having to wait to take it to someone else. The nearest bow shop is about 50 miles away so i pretty much try to do all my archery work myself. Call me crazy but for me there' s just something special about harvesting an animal with an arrow i made myself.:D

I have been fletching my own arrows for about 2 years. I could not do without it now. As mentioned their is a real improvement in consistency of fletching and you can replace one vane or all 3 at a time. You do not have to take them in to have them fletched. If I get tired of a color I switch them.

You will save money over time. I like doing it so much I tell my brother in law that I will fletch his and his kids arrows.

I just purchased a Jo-Jan 6 arrow fletcher. Just got shafts and will probably start the first ones this weekend.

I decided to fletch because I can control the quality and both my daughters are beginning to shoot. To me, that justified building them myself.

i' ve been fletching my own arrow for a long time ,i use a jo-jan multi fletcher it get the job done fast when you can do six at once. and arrow saws are inexpensive, if you want a good price check out fcs discount archery ,they are on the web and advertise in bowhunter.

I fletch about half of my own arrows plus I do my own repairs. Sometimes I am just in a pinch and don' t have time to fletch them, so I call the order into a friend of ours and can usually have them in a day or 2.

I use the Grayling jig to do mine. It isn' t quite as nice as the Bitz, but it does a great job. I love the feeling of harvesting an animal with an arrow that I made from the bare shaft.
