Thought about the fleece tape but don't think it would last that long on a buckle/nylon strap combo.

Never thought about under the pants Germ, I'll try that.

Question about climbing in this stand....

If anyone has ever climbed with a summit with a fixed rail (viper).....I rarely use the "sit" technique. I, instead, place my hands on the rail......and propel myself up with my arms. I'm able to get 4' or so "intervals" per ascention attempt, this way.

In looking at the LW stand.....is there sufficient room for me to do this with this stand?

Thanks.

Edit...

I also use the rail to sit on, when I've reached my apex, to rest while I get dressed. "Can" I sit on the rail in the horizontal position (up position) to achieve this?

Jeff,
I normally put my elbows/forearms on the seat portion and climb. Basically I climb as if the bar was not there.

I get about 4' bites.

You can fold the rail out of the way and use the stand as a hand climber.

I would not sit on the rail in the up position. Only down. Unless you balance exactly right it wouldn't stay up.

Another question.....(and yes I've already ordered)

I place all my clothes in the seat of my summit as I ascend.....and get dressed when I reach my desired height.

Will the seat on the new climbers hold my gear while I ascend?
