Awesome. I agree with everyone else, the taxi did a great job. You ought to give him a shameless plug on the site...he deserves it.

Hey ROb...

What I didn't say earlier......is that's the best looking turkey mount I've ever seen.

Beauty Rob...I like it. Wish I could actually kill one to mount.

Best of luck keeping the dog away from it.

That second picture is so life like that I want to shoot it. As all the others said the best turkey mount I have seen in a long while.

ORIGINAL: GMMAT

Looks like a great playmate for your dog.

I give it 2 weeks

It sure is pretty, though!
Axel won't have a chance at it. I know better.

bscofield, Thanks. Between it and the 2nd bird I had done in a tail/beard,spur plaque only was $550.

MGH PA, thanks Matt, stop by and check him out, bring your bow and we'll shoot.

Tembry, poor little Axle can't reach him. I know what he'd do. I have a struttin Eastern and Axel jumps at him when I'm in the room somtimes. He can't reach any of the 4 birds nor any other mount.

The taxidermist is Layon Taxidermy in Montoursville, PA. Chris is a good friend of mine.

HuntingEd, thanks Ed. I was suprised to be honest. I have a full strut Eastern. His head is tucked in and I was pleasantly surprised to see this one gobblin. I told Chris to full strut him and use your judgement. He prides himself in his turkeys. Here's the two strutters. First one Eastern, second one this new Rio.

livbucks, yes good eye, it's a freeze dried head. Chris (Laylon Taxidermist) prides himself on his birds. He only uses the head from the bird, puts your name on it and makes sure it's the one you turned in unless of course you shot it off...LOL

captn mauser06, thanks bud.

twildasin, lol, you know Axel, he won't be near it. I'm sure you'll see it soon.

Huntinman23, all the photos in the first thread/post are of the same gobbler. The above pics are of an Eastern I shot in 06, and this KS Rio from last year 07.

ei, thanks, I'll pass on the credits to Chris, my taxi.

Carpmaster, MOTOWNHONKEY, WMAH, thanks guys.

Thanks JeramyK, Siman08/OH and thehairlessone!.

Ben,
jealous, you know Axel still likes your leg. Thanks again for setting out a camera.

Frank (Brknarrow), Hurricanespq, Thanks men.

Thank you whitetailbowhunter and BBH.

shawneeslinger,
...thanks and LOL, okay, Laylon Taxidermy, Montoursville PA. Great guy, good friend, incredible and well priced taxi.

wis r h, thank you for Chris, I didn't mount it, was the lucky hunter. I'll pass the praises onto him.

John, (jmbuck) won't be picking teams tonight, get some sleep and thank you.

GMMAT, thanks brother. Best ever? I'll let Chris know. I really didn't pick it out, just trusted Chris and shazaam. What a gorgeous mount. I first heard it was done from my buddy Ray Smith, founder of River Valley Game Calls. He was there and picked up a Merriam his wife shot and he mentioned seeing my KS Rio and how gorgeous it was. Chris then called me to pick it up. I love it but am not sure where in the house to put it. I have some left over logs to build a pedistal for each of the two mounts you see above and when I finish the basement/bar area I'm going to put them in opposite corners I think.

Kelly, KY, Thanks Kelly, hey put me on a big KY buck or any and I'll put you on a turkey, your place or mine. I've been known to call in a few. You just have to hit them.

blood(twin), that doesn't suprise me at all. He's 1 of 4 mounts so far. I say so far as I want a standing upright now. The bird I missed on camera in NC last year would have been perfect with that huge beard. I have a flying turkey, a half strut/on the limb gobblin mount, a full strut and a full strut/gobblin now. Add the upright and a Merriam, Osceola and I'll be complete.

MichaelP, thanks, he does look like you should hear him spit and drum. He's already had one arrow sent through him, don't think there will be any more. LOL Did you check out the commericial to see him strut when I took him?
