Broadhead Poll
 

I know this poll has already been run before, but I just want to get a feel for what everyone thinks is the best broadhead for whitetails. You might talk about which head specifically you like, and why you prefer it.

This I am sticking with the slick trick mag. again. I used to shoot muzzy but I just like the tricks better.

I have voted Muzzy. I have tried many different broadheads and nothing compares to the Muzzys in my book. Iver tried everythign from mechanicals, wasps, rocky mountain, thunderheads, as well as many other ones and was never able to get a good clean pass through untill I tried Muzzy MX-4's these things are wicked and devistating when it comes to damage, and have always had a perfect pass through.

I shoot both Muzzys and Thunderheads, kill deer with both...

I have killed a few with the Spitfires with no problem...It's just easier to change the blades with Muzzys and Thunderheads that I went back to them...

I've been using the Thunderhead 100's for several years now, and I've not had a reason to change. I almost always get a good passthrough shot on the vitals and rarely, if ever, have a problem with a deer not bleeding out pretty quickly. The only deer I killed last year (a doe) ran no further than 20 yards after arrow impact before she began to wobble and fell over. Upon further investigation, I saw that I was able to get her in the heart, so that certainly helps. Lucky shot I guess?!?

Slicktricks. I've only shot those and WASP heads. Slicktricks flew flawless, performed well in the field for me, so I'm staying with them. I'm a gear guy, but I'm not into switching BH's too much.

out of those slick trick definately. G5 strikers are great. The only one I would possibly choose over the trick is the magnus buzzcut

Slick Trick 100gr Magnum. They seem to be very similar to a Muzzy MX-4 butI think they are stronger and sharper.

Half a stick of TNT with a contact detonator for me. Shot placement is not very important. Just stay away from the head if you want to mount it.

Just kidding. Muzzy 100 gr. 3 blade.

* Started out shooting Thunderheads and G5 Montecs. Took one (ill-advised) shot with the G5....but never gave it a real chance.

* 2006 - Started the season with mechanicals (rockets). Took one shot (poor shot) and then sought the advice of friends I trusted.....who knew my set-up and my abilities....and went to a heavier (125gr) BH - Muzzy 3-blade.
- Took 5 deer with this head.....with only one being a complete pass-thru.

* 2007 - Started the season with the same 125gr Muzzy. Didn't EVER like the blood trails I was getting with the head....and decided to switch to a larger cutting surface.
- Took 2 deer with the Muzzy....with 2 complete pass-thrus.
- Switched to the Rage 2-blade.....achieving INCREDIBLE entrance holes and INCREDIBLE blood trails. 5 of 7 animals taken with this head were complete pass-thrus. KE was over 76FP's.

I've used Thunderheads, Muzzy, and Magnus and have settled on the Magnus Stingers. Of the few I have used, the Stingers fly like a dart, are razor sharp, and very strong.

I've used a lot of broadheads and the vast majority have performed well. My vote was for the Spitfires because I have taken more deer with them than any other broadhead and they have a 100% recovery record for me.

With that said I will be trying out new broadheads yet again and will be shooting Innerloc Falcons and Innerloc 3 blade EXPs. I'm pretty excited about the Falcons because I'll be using them on my first ever bear hunt. I like the EXPs too because they are nearly identical to the Spitfires, but have a better method for changing out the blades making them reusable.

Who knows, maybe they'll be at the top of my list next year.

Muzzy 3 blade 100 gr. All kills have been complete pass thrus...nuff said!

i will be using the 100 grain muzzys i got. they seem to be one of the most used heads. i am thinking of making the switch to the 4 blade next season

shooting the Wasp boss so far impressed and you can't beat $36 for 6 nowdays see how they perform on a deer in a few weeks

I was going to vote Rage as I shoot it's daddy the Rocky Mountain Snyper so I picked other. There is no best in the list, just some better than others.

I will be shooting the g5 strikers this season. Super sharp and have never not had a pass thru with one. I've shot a bunch of different broadheads over the years though and most have done pretty well. The sharper the better. Chris
