RE: Beman 400 carbon arrows

They are good arrows, but like any other brandof arrows you could have gotten some bad ones. It happens. I've tried a few brands and the only ones that I've had problems with is CarbonForce (PSE). They are accurate, but they seem to be very brittle. I've broken a few of them by just normal pulling them out of a target.

what should i be looking for when i spin test them? sorry for all the questions but i've never had to do it before
To see if there is a wobble in either end of the arrow.

If you get a wobble on the BH end check again with another BH if you get a wobble at the nock end mark that arrow as a practice arrow or trash it.

You want all your broad head arrows to spin true.

What you're experiencing could be a number of things. First, what's your draw weight and length, arrow length, broadhead weight? It's possible you're borderline on shaft stiftness and the broadhead characteristics put you over the line. Also, depending on what you're shooting into and how much you shoot, carbon arrows will loose their spine over time. When I shot Bemans everything in the charts told me 400's should do it. They shot just fine with fieldpoints. When I went to broadheads they were totally unexceptable. I switched to the 340's and the problems went away. I could have more than likely cured the problem with a lighter broadhead, but since I already owned about 2 dozen Thunderhead 125s I jut got new arrows. Of course the problem could also be your tune isn't correct, but they still should group somewhereeven if it wasn't exact.

RE: Beman 400 carbon arrows

I'm shooting like 68 ish pounds with a 29 inch draw and the arrows are 27.5 inches, I checked on the beman website and i am right on the line in terms of spine, so i think you guys might be right. Like i said i don't think its a tuning problem because even if it was out of tune the point of impact would be off but the arrows would still group...i think so anyways. I don't think its a form issue because each individual arrow groups fine, just no where near where the other arrows are grouping. I'm going to play with them a little more today and if i still can't get them right i am going to go to my bow shop this weekend and figure out a set up that will work. Thanks again guys

What's your broadhead weight. Try this, back off your poundage about 5 pounds and see if it gets better.

Yep you might br right at the borderline. As far as beman arrows its hard to beat a beman arrow.

I shoot ICS Elite 400s, 62#, with a 100 gr broadhead. They group nice. One thing, I'm shooting G5 Montecs, and the three "practice heads" I picked up flew just plain crazy. I couldn't get the same one to hit in the same place twice. Started practicing with the broadheads, back to shooting at different spots for fear of damaging arrows. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

I'm shooting 100 grain magnus four blade stingers. I shot a little more today and i managed to get a couple arrows grouping somewhat together.

I have been shooting the BEMAN ICS Hunters for several years now... They, IMO, are a very well built, consistant, & durable arrow with a reasonable price tag. I have never had a problem with them.
