Many of you probably remember my posts last winter about buying a new Hoyt from a guy here at work. It was a band new 05 Hoyt still in the box. Never had anything mounted on it. Well, $$$ has been short this summer, and I was never able to take it to the shop to have it set up. I did buy a QAD rest, that I am going to put on this bow, but other htan that, I have done nothing with it.
My question is, how much can I expect to spend to take it in and have it all set up for me? I want to get an HHA 5000 one pin sight, peep.... I also want to have them set me up with a dozen Gold Tip Arrows. Just wanting to know how much $$$$$ I will need to take to the shop with me when I go. Thanks.

Call and ask them how much the sight/arrows are. They should (if they have any sense) mount your accessories for free if you buy them, there. They may charge you to mount your rest....set your peep....tie your loop.....but then again they may not. Im not familiar with that sight....but your arrows are likely gonna run between $80-$120....depending on which tolerance you're comfortable with.

Either way.....call and tell them what you're looking for. They'll give you a rundown of costs. All we'd be doing is guessing.

If $$$ are short (and boy have I been there before), I would suggest looking into what you are wanting on-line. I know my man at my pro shop would hate me for saying this out loud, but the fact is you can find stuff on on-line stores much cheaper than you can at the local pro shop. I know you can find the GTs cheap and if you know exactly what site you are looking for, I am willing to bet a weekend of hunting that you will be able to find it on-line cheaper than at the pro shop. Just a suggestion, I hope you get it all set up and zero'd in.

While this is sometimes true, usually it comes out about the same when you figure in labor. I can only speak for the shopI work for, but if someone were to bring in accessories bought elsewhere, we're gonna charge them....I think it's $25/hour to install it. So unless you can get a really good deal, it's not normally worth it.

You're probably going to need around $250 for what you want to do. Maybe closer to 275 once you figure in tax and all that....

Thanks guys, I was actually expecting it to be closer to $400, so $275 would be great. I was thinking the same thing about getting the things that I wanted to put on it online, but I figured they would charge more to set it up then, so it wouyld be a wash. My thinking is that if I am going to take it to a shop and have them set it up for me, I want to give them the sale for my arrows and other parts that I need.

That's the "right" way to do it 12T.....if there is such a thing. Building up that relationship will benefit you in the end for sure.

I can't believe you haven't gotten to shoot that thing yet.....Dude, you're gonna love it.

Ya, I know, its killing me everytime I look at it hanging there on her hook. Not that I dont like my old PSE, but I will die if I dont have the HOYT set up before our season starts. I suppose I could tell my wife that I have to get new arrows before the season starts, so I might just as well get them to fit the HOYT.[8D]
