Default When do the acorns fall?

Could anyone tell me when acorns typically start to drop? I'm curious about southern wisconsin, also how long of a window do you have between when the deer start eating them 'til they're gone?

This is an interesting post. I just spent two days hauling climbing sticks and a hanger about 3/4 of a mile up a ridge where there are about 15 nice mature white oaks. I chose this spot because of the sign (scraps and crap) from last year surrounding the area.

Our bow season doesnt start until October 4th, and Im wondering if this is going to be an archery stand or muzzle. If anyone down here in the VA area or carolinas start to see the whites dropping let me know, but I have a feeling it wont be until late october or november.

Hoyt I would wager they will be dropping before then in VA. Take binoculars and look at your oaks, the clusters are already forming and will develop quickly over the nextfew weeks. After that, who knows all it takes is a couple of good storms and some wind to get things going.
