RE: Would you be in favor of?
ORIGINAL: Lanse couche couche I'm even in favor of people being permitted to sell deer meat if that will help thin them out in some places. Here in Iowa, field dress it and drop it off at an authorized locker and they do the rest without charging a cent. I believe it's a tax write off for the lockers. So, I would not be in favor for paying something that is already covered. But for you Donnie, I am in favor of them charging YOU more. |
RE: Would you be in favor of?
i watched a movie about Wyatt Earp and it made sick to watch them shoot dozens of Buffalo and only take there furs
alot of people think hunting killed off all the animals in the wild west it was in fact trappers and people kill animals to sell there furs ORIGINAL: Lanse couche couche The buffalo were an example of unregulated market hunting. No problem if you issue a certain number of market tags on a justified need or lottery basis. Lots of furbearing animals are currently hunted/trapped exclusively to sell their fur and we haven't seen them going the way of the buffalo. The simple fact of the matter is lots of people love to shoot deer, but far fewer like to eat the meat. What do you think happens to the meat off those does when a trophy hunter participates in an earn a buck program. I am for whatever it takes to keep all that meat from going to waste. |
RE: Would you be in favor of?
heck yea that 35 bucks gets expensive when u kill 4 deer a year
|
RE: Would you be in favor of?
Id have no problem with the two bills if it was going toward the processors fee for the program. I have donated deer to friends and feed the hungry before. The processor (no longer in buisness) donated his time for the processing when deer were donated for this.

RE: Would you be in favor of?
Here in Oklahoma we used to donate deer meat, but now it has to be usda inspected so that program is history, its a shame too........

RE: Would you be in favor of?
ORIGINAL: FLboy77 ORIGINAL: mobow Jeff, I completely understand the field dressing issue. But, why would the hunter quartering them be a stipulation with you? Isn't that what the processor is being paid for? And yes I am in favor. Our fees are HIGHER here to donate, and that is part of the reason I don't "WHACK!!!" anymore than I do as well. I'd pay an extra couple dollars, but the problem is when you do something like that, $.75 of every dollar gets lost in the red tape of a bureaucracy!!! |
