A couple of does, several antelope, a few turkeys and a cow elk.

It is a great way to hunt. Frustrating when learning. The best advice I could give would be, when you think you are moving slow enough, slow downalot more. Get a high quality set of binoculars and use them. You should do way more looking than walking.

schultzy - it wasn't inthe same area as you avatar was it? JK

I did a successful stalk in Michigan. Walking through the woods and saw her at 400yds ish, she was feeding and walking away. It was very exciting, I drew on her 3 times but was shaking soo bad I had to let down, try to control my heart rate and try again. My brother was watching an asked when he was walking up why I kept drawing and letting down. When he got to me and saw how bad my legs were shaking, he figured it out.

Numerous times with both bow and firearm. It is how i do at least 75% of my hunting. Even when not still hunting, i almost always sit on the ground. Of the 23 or so deer i've killed, only 3 were from a tree stand. I enjoy the challenge of being down on the ground with deer while hunting them.

That is how I take the great majority of my deer. It reallyis not as difficult as some people try to makeit sound, but it does add a challenge from sitting in a tree.
