i was looking my cabales order over and noticed on the shoes it said nothing about the insulation it just said new balance hiker 1200 goretex.
i do not think this is insulated just waterproof.
So what socks should i wear for late season cold hunting. or do i need to buy a another pair of boots.
Here is a link can someone tell me if there insulated or is this just a waterproof hiking boot

tim---depends on how far you are walking in to your stand/stands. If you are walking a short way, you can wear warmer socks. If you have a long walk...wear a lightweight pair of socks, then change your socks when you get about 100 yards from your stand to wool or whatever you want...or even change them on stand. Just take the old socks and place them in a plastic bag. It really depends on how hot your feet get and how far you have to walk...and what time of the year you are hunting.

depend on which site one place about 150 yards one is about 300 one is even 1/2 mile in.
The man site i will use for fall hunting with my bow is about 300 yards down then 50 into the woods.
i guest a good thing would be the fact i can use them all season if there is no insulation.
I will be muzzle loader hunting in Nov and DEC. i guest were see what happens might have a pair of insulated boot on next years list. if anything i will not hunt those real cold days or stock up on feet warmers
i had a few days last year in the 30S i stopped hunting in the middle of Nov because i had no heavy boots no insulated camo and the wind and cold blow right through my clothes shoes and socks. it was just to cold.
Already ordered some insulated camo coveralls

thats what i thought then i was looking at my new balance shoes i had on and there like 835s or something i forgot new balance numbers the differnt models [:@][:@][:@][:@]
i pasted on a pair of 600 gram hunting boots because they were alittle tight and the guy did not want to sell me a 4e and they did not have hunting boot in my size. Still think not buying the tight boots was the right move

It looks to me more of a hiking boot then a hunting boot, Too bad that 1200 dont mean thinsulation insulation stuff.

You can always return them to Cabelas and reorder a new pair with insulation if you want. I think the return shipping costs $6, and they will pay for the shipping to you as long as the new boots do not cost more than the returned ones.
