How to scout
#12
It would be helpful also to see the neighboring land as well. There could be agriculture on one side and thick bedding areas on another and that might mean that the deer are passing through from point a to point b.

The red dots show where i would look. There is big woods off the property to the right and the left. I'm sure that the deer are passing through somewhere on the property. The spots i marked are places that look like natural funnels to me. The deer will most likely be using these to stay under cover during travel. Also is a birds eye view below of my top place to look at.

Thanks, have to call my uncle and get our trail cam and put it on a trail that i find. And BTW the stand you gave me with a birds eye view, we have 1 there and you can not belive how loud the traffic is at that spot.

I wouldn't pay any attention to the sound of the traffic. The deer in your area are suburbian deer and are probably used to that. Just think about how many deer you see on the side of roads and interstates when you drive.

Another thing that you may want to try is an attractant in front of your camera. I use Apple Buck Jam and just pour it out on the ground and rake it into the soil. This will usually bring in deer over night to that area. I think that you will have a better chance of getting some pictures with something like that in front of the camera.
