Default how big does a doe need to be

how big does a doe need to be before you shoot her.

I am still waiting for that first deer but it is hard for me to shoot a small doe. not a fawn but like a 1 year old.

how big must she be for you to shoot

As long as she can stand on all 4, she's game.

To much is put on weather or not it is a "mature" deer. I live by the saying "If it's brown it's down" and I will even take it a step farther than that because I don't care if it has spots. Some think this is wrong but it is some of the best eating you will ever have! To each his own!!!! If you don't feel comfortable about shooting 1 year old or younger deer then don't do it and don't let me or anyone else to you should or shouldn't. It's your tag use it how you want!!!

As long as she doesn't have spots and I have a bow in my hand.

Ok MAYBE not THAT small. As long as shes atleast a 1yr old.

Last year, I made a hasty decision and shot a fawn out of spots. I guess it's still called a fawn then? I know it's not a yearling. Anyway, I'm going to try NOT to do that again this year.

No spots and no milk on her lips and she's game....I prefer a bit larger deer if I'm gonna have to mess with cleaning it.

not very
but generally I wait on more meat. But in the places I get unlimited tags I'll zap the 1st female deer that gives me a shot

I usually see does in groups and I try to pick the biggest one out, but I don't get obsessed with it
