Default Got a buck today.

I haven't been practicing much so it took two shots, but I got 'er done. Just a little bugger though. Still had lots of spots and couldn't have weighed more than 20 pounds. It was a target of opportunity. I was driving up the road with my buddy looking over a new place we just today received permission to hunt. Not sole permission. The little old lady lets anyone who ask hunt. Anyway, I saw this fawn right on the side of the road. I said, "Look.... a dead fawn". Just as we were passing it it raised it's head. The little bugger must have been hit with a car minutes before. So I slammed on the brakes and looked for something to dispatch it with. Ended up taking out my tow hitch and bashing it with the ball a couple times. Poor little fellow was just getting started in life and got whacked at midday on the highway beside a corn field. Both back legs were a twisted mangled mess and the thing was still alive. I know he'd have died but I helped him on his way. Not a good thing. But, does this count as the first kill of the year? I know, not an ethical hunt. Tow balls are not a legal weapon.

I can't believe you even have the balls to go into such horrible detail about this.

As much as we are hunters and we kill, it sure breaks our hearts to do the deed in that situation. I hate seeing anything hit by a vehicle, somehow it really touches my heart when it's a fawn or a dog.

I told the story. That's all. It wasn't all that nice to go through. What do you want me to do, sugar coat it. Life's a beesh. I spent a couple years in a war. You do what you have to.

Rob/PA....Somehow, I don't think he thinks the same....I can almost invision him laughing like a immature school kid sayin "Dude, did you see how freaking hard I had to hit that little SOB". That post was totally tasteless, you should do your self a favor and delete it.

No, it'd be like me saying "I had sex today" you don't need the details to figure out what happened. There was ALOT in your post you could of left out and we still would have gotton the point.

I disagree, David can be alot of things but I don't think he's insensitive to this. He didn't sugar coat it and honestly I read the feelings behind it. I think maybe your looking at the text wrong or putting the wrong emotion behind the read.

Look jerk, I'm 64. I killed the damn thing because it needed to be done. Get off your high horse. I'd do the same for you. You're reading a lot between the lines that wasn't there. I said:

I don't see me high fiving or doing chest bumps like all the TV stars do in that statement. You're reading what you want.
