Nope, velvet doesn't mean anything to me at all... I like inches and age.

He's hunting here in Sept., EI. (hence my joke)

If you think they don't still have velvet on here, in Sept (Many of them)....better stick to Alberta.

Oh yeah......;)

Thats interesting, PSE.....because I'm one that thinks they look BIGGER in velvet.
Exactly Jeff. Thats why I raise my standards. I know if I see a buck in velvet that appears to be a 140 at first glance, I assume hes really onlya 130; thus I raise my standards by 8-10 inches.
I think they do too. QUESTION: How are they scored in Velvet?

True Jeff but I'd peel it off for the mount. :D I'd shoot it, wouldn't mount it in velvet. I thought that's what we were talking about. [8D]

Hunt KY the first weekend in Sept every year in hopes of a nice velvet buck. Missed a 140 inch 8 pointer in full velvet2 years ago 15 min after getting in the stand the first night. Happend all to fast. Buddy ended up killing a nice 9 pointer. Look very nice mounted in velvet.

I like the polished look better also, when you get a lot of different shades of that white to tan, thats when it looks hood.
