My '07 buck, resurrected.
 

Well, I got my buck back this week. Some of you read thatI wasn't very happy w/ it, and now you'll be able to see why. I wanted the ears pinned back aggresively, not sticking out like airplane wings. But that doesn't look bad, just not what I wanted.

I know you aren't familiar with this sort of thing : At the very least take that thing back to your taxidermist and tell him to properly airbrush the color in his ears. :eek:
They shouldn't be a dead guy mummy skin tan color. They should be a lively light pink.

Is there something up with his eyes too or is that just the picture?

I don't know, I haven't had him officially scored as yet. I personally think he's gonna be close...real close. Depending on how the deductions work, I think he may be JUST under.....His gross is definetly there though.....I gotta find somewhere to have it officially scored.

Matt, I said something to him about the ears and eyes, he says he doesn't have an airbrush..... HUH??? A taxi w/out an airbrush??????? [:@]

jmbuckhunter knows a GOOD taxi, I've sent him a pm to see if he may be able to do some quick detailing work for me. I told the guy that did this one that I, nor ANYONE at the shop will EVER take another deer to him.

Yes, his eyes are all goofy. I think if they are airbrushed a little, that will help immensly.

And...whaddya mean, I don't know anything about this sort of thing?? Are you saying that I don't have much experience killing bucks??? [&:]:eek:

Here's what I'm talking about with how properly airbrushed ears are supposed to look........maybe the guy just forgot?:eek:
If he gives you a hard time or doesn't feel it's necessary then it's time to find a new taxidermist for 08'

Honestly, he tells me he doesn't own one. Whatever. Nobodies going back to him anyway. It's a delicate situation, though. We're not only friends, he's one of our shop shooters.....but anyway.......
