Why is huntingnet disappearing?
 

I've noticed that there are a LOT less hunters on here and most especially the 2008 hunting contest. Now go to archerytalk.com and look how their numbers are rising bigger than huntingnet has ever had for active members??? Do you think there is fowl play?? I don't understand why huntingnet has been dropping in numbers of active members where archerytalk has been in it's golden year!!! I just was wondering??? Is it just a bad year? Are there less hunters? Are people tired of the online thing? Is it that people who make minimum wage can't afford the internet cause of gas prices?? I'm curious! Fill me in please.

I don't think the numbers here lessen. Once an active member always an active (unless banned of course). Even then a banned member might not come off the total number ofactive members, don't know for sure.

But scroll to the bottom of the main forum page, look and you will see the numbers small, whereas the numbers used to be a LOT more!!!????

i like huntingnet alot more then archery talk. i found archery talk to be boring still great info there also as i am still learning and taking in all i can. but IMHO i do like huntingnet more then archery talk. i have not been around both sites long enough for me to say that one is losing more members then the others so i will not judge as i have no proof so all i can say is GO HUNTINGNET!

Oh you mean the KIDS who thing they are the next Realtree crew? By the way didn't archerytalk copy the HNI bowhunting contest? Um yeah I think so.

Yeah AT has a lot of good info but you haft to sift through all of the BS first. To me HNI is more like a family, maybe a dysfunctional family at times but a family none the less.:D

AT has over 90K members, huntingnet was over 115K last time I noticed. Lets all hope OOD isn't doing our taxes.;)

huntin.net is one of the better forums.I hardley ever go to AT anymore. Here,Primos, ARkansashunting .net,DU,and a few more that cater more to info than arguing are my favorites

AT has nothing on HNI. While we may have our moments, this is truly a community, unlike AT. And for the record, I think our contest has a record number of entrants for 2008...correct me if I'm wrong Rob.

Ive tried AT, i cant get hooked over there. I was hooked here the first day I signed up. We must not say all bad things about AT, their Classifieds kill ours.

I have not been a member on this site that long but have already met several great people. All I have accomplished on AT is getting annoyed. HNI is like home to me, AT is like Motel 6.:D

No don't misunderstand, in OOD's defense, we covered this and discarded his other username, this is his new one from here on out.

And Kelly, not yet....last year we had 48 teams, 480 entrants. I'm betting we surpass that. We have 300 in 12 days.

I use both sites but this is the one I really enjoy being on. The people here are first class individuals who I can see myself sharing a camp with. The people over there come across like archery snobs sometimes, although they can be very knowledgable.

The only time I go over there is for the classifieds or if I have a technical archery question that I want to get an answer to FAST.

For example, last night I posted a question on AT about using OnTarget software, and within 5 minutes somebody from the company answered my question with a 3 paragraph post. I probably could have got the same answer here but it might have taken a little longer.

I appreciate both sites but I like the people here much better.

Yeah guys i've said it before i'll say it again... I've known huntingnet for a long time! Still love it here after getting my ass whooped.. If you could give me one more chance i'd appreciate it, I also have to tell everyone I knew martin murphy real well;)and i've straightened out... But I know that there used to be more overall members... Not only on bowhunting.
