RE: Are they really good???
I've just started DVR-ing shows, so I've been watching a bunch more lately.
To be completely honest, and this mayget off the track a little, butI'm almost sickened with the number of awful shots. In about five shows, I've seen two hindquarter shots (on Summit's show and Brenda Valentine's) and a gut shot (forget which show). I know bad shots are sometime part of bowhunting, but it seems like they're so focused on getting a kill on camera, that they rush or take bad shots. I've found myself actually rooting for a deer to walk the other way, just to make videos actually resemble REAL hunts and not just kill shows. |
RE: Are they really good???
ORIGINAL: WKP Todd The only way you will truly know what they know is if they show us. So many don't. For this reason, I insist on our videos showing our team members shed hunting, filming velvet footage, scouting, setting stands, hunting, and not always killing (that isn't the reality of hunting - period!!!). Unfortanately, the market is such that it insists on watching nothing but "hunt-kill". The only way to change this is to tell them how you feel. We've had TONS of good feedback because we show that we actually do "everything" - and not just go on outfitted hunt after outfitted hunt where someone else is doing all the "work"..... I know I don't need to tell you this as you already know, but most guys out there don't realize what goes into a 30 minute show. You guys do a great job of balancing the hunting action and scouting, networking, shed hunting, etc. on your DVDs. I'd love to see how you put it together into a show. I think you guys could do a good job of it, but many others just focus on that kill. There are a few that have some balance in their shows, but to me, they are the elite. Some can't show balance, because they don't have any.;) |
