thanks dstubb. I found another water hole back in alot deeper. The water comes down a really steep hill and then it finally levels out right before the lake. There were a ton of tracks walking in and out of that thing. I made a ground blind out of logs and downed trees so that I can just slip in with my kayak and set up quickly in the heat. I can't wait to see what is moving around in this area.

Your a lucky man! I wish i had a spot that i could get into by kayak.

During hot weather might be next to the watering hole if there is sign there. But during the rut, think I would have to be backed off of the hole some.
