If you know where it is going and don't feel like it would be stolen, now is as good of a time as any.

Depends, is it private land where you feel sure it won't be stolen or is it public land? I leave my stands up year round and if one is unproductive, I move it in the spring or early summer so the deer are used to the stand being there and there is enough time for the human scent to be gone before its time to hunt.

Ladder stands in general, the earlier you can set them up the better off you will be, but have also set one up on Sunday and had several deer move by in bow range Monday morning
