RE: OLD BOWS

I still have my old PSE Mach 6 with 80 lbs limbs on it that I keep as a back-up bow. (The sight pins are stacked right on top of one another out to 50 yards.) It was the bow Ibought when I got real serious about archery and took a few deeralong with a few 3d trophies with it, so it is kind of a keep sake to me now.Itis a beast of a bow compared to all of the smooth-shooting, lightweight bows on the market the last few years. I'd still pick my Mathewsover the hard camPSE any day although I'd betmy MQ1 is probably considered an antique by some of you guys that buy a new bow every year or two!:D

I'd have to say my 1977 Jennings Arrowstar. It was definitely my best shooter, but then maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was 30 years younger and had better muscle tone and eyes. Shot a lot of field archery and indoor target with that bow. I'd venture an educated guess and say that it was in my hands about 3 hours a day.

You reckon that might've had something to do with how you shot with it? ;)

We used to put a heckuvalot more arrows downrange than most of today's guys do. I figured up one time with my normal practice routines and tournaments, I was shooting right around 100,000 arrows a year.

Art, that's an average of 274 arrows per day.

Considering a 45 arrow vegas 450 game takes roughly one hour to shoot, that's a solid 6 hours a day of shooting 365 days a year!

;)

Yup, your calculator is working fine, Bob.:D

I ain't no Vegas shooter. ;) When you draw and get on target, SHOOT! No sense standing there farting around holding full draw. This was also in the days of 50% let-off bows, so there wasn't much farting around at full draw anyway. And, I have to point out that most of my shooting was traditional or competitive bowhunter class (fingers, no sights), sometimes bowhunter freestyle limited (pins/fingers). When you don't have to jack around with a release and twiddle a sight adjustment knob, it doesn't take much time at all to get off an arrow - or a whole bunch of arrows. :D

ONEIDA Eagle!!!!!! What I learned on. That thing looked like a bow from outter space. Think like a '86 vintage or something. Gave it toa buddy who picked up archery a few years ago, he shoots it well and loves it haha. I've killed deer with it believe it or not!
