Every year! Every stinkin' year!! Too many good men lost to treestand accidents. 
Treestands are, by far, the most dangerous piece of equipment you own. Treat them with respect. All it takes is one mistake and... Gravity always wins.

Always wear your safety harness. Basic ones are not that expensive and they don't slow you down much at all. It might take a couple more minutes to use the safety device. It is better than doing this to your family.
