I put mine out at lunch, today.....for the third yr in a row on the same tree. I "hope" to show you some more evidence of the above in a few weeks.

No idea what's out there.........

First time it's been out, all year.

I haven't seen a buck in a field, yet.....and I'm seeing does, every night. Just not my time to see them during the daylight hours.

I'll post up some photos .....next weekend (27th).

I should also add in that scrapes are a place where mature bucks can get used to cameras. I put one of my cams out every year on the same scrape line and get some good photos.

I agree...This mature deer is the only deer that i know of that has given me any reason to believe that he was spooked by the camera. I have it set on three shot burst and have never seen any pictures of him running off...he just doesnt show his face often...

Jeff ,I find it amusing how you equate deer behavior to the laws of physics. In our world very few things are as factorial as the laws of physics.
If I say deer are brown,you will say I am wrong because once in a blue moon there is a black one even more often than black arewhite ones. I say deer have four legs , you say I'm wrong because you saw one with three legs once.
We are talking about the actions of deer that we have personally witnessed.I have not seen every deer in my woods so I guessI am wrong until I have personallyseen each and every one avoid my camera, but until then I have seen the largest of known bucks stay plenty clear of my cameras.:eek:
It is a statistical fact that by applying the actions of the majority of your targets into your hunting plan you will increase your success proportionally.
With your logic walking through the woods a takingdump is a great buck hunting plan because you saw it happen once.;)

This guy was aged between 6.5 and 7.5 years old (the buck on the right). I got video of him fighting with this smaller buck (the pic quality is bad because I pulled it from my camcorder). I ended up shooting this buck Dec.of 2004 with a rifle, I had been bowhunting through our rifle season and while checking a game camera in my backyard I saw this buck get up and walk away, he had both his front legs smashed up, one was broke above the hoof and the other hoof was half gone. I quickly made the decision to leave the bow at home and head after him with my rifle knowing that it wouldn't count for the bowhunting contest. I had game cameras setup in this property throughout the summer and fall and he avoided them, the night I took this video was the only time I saw him before the day I shot him.

Which is why I say I abhor absolutes in deer hunting, for the most part.

I said nothing about the deer you hunt. I cited what the ones, HERE, do and don't do. When you say (or elude to) ALL (_____________) you're citing an absolute.

You're trying to turn this one around on me....and I'm not the one saying what they all or most do. Quite the contrary, actually.

I don't buy into all the "they always do this....and they always do that".....as it can't be proven (but can EASILY be DISproven;)). When we begin predicting their behavior.....we're in unchartered waters. The "lore" is laughable.

But if that one deer in PA has your mind made up.....I'd shy away from using cameras, too.;)
