I haven't read them all but it's the same old argument/discussion.

Some deer do, some deer don't is a simple way to say it. They are as individual as you and I.

Here's one example. A friend of mine got ONE picture of a mature buck in a food plot. They wondered if he was still there so they left the camera in place. (On a post/fence in the middle of the plot) They put a Wildlife Eye pointing toward the camera. Sure enough, that buck was still there and he'd walk across the food plot, stop and go around the camera. They said it was quite evident that this particular buck wanted to avoid it.

I've got pictures of bucks turning inside out to flee the camera. (35mm so I'm not sure if it was flash or noise) I have others which stand there and seem to pose.

Most times though, we hear that people get ONE picture of a certain buck and never again UNLESS the camera is moved.

Obviously the intrusion has to be part of the equation.
So Rob great point, but I am still pissed you blew my theory on tarsal glands out of the water:D

So How long until we condition deer to game camera's? I know deer in Northen MI are conidiion to know bait is trouble, and they are also condition to look up[&:]
How long before game camera's become a "no no"

For example in over 20+ years of baiting in NLP, out of 7 hunters we have seen exactly 1 mature buck come eat. That was in Dec and my uncle could not get a shot off. He kept one eye on the bait and one eye on him[8D]

My neighbor is putting camera's out, I see them along the river, it makes me happy[8D]

This is one of the oldest bucks I have ever gotten pictures of. I never did get to see him in the daylight. I truely believe there are only a few days a year during the rut that you will catch that age class of deer on their feetduring daylight. MOST of them will be very nocturnal, pressured or not. I did however get pictures of him over and over in the very same spots and often he was looking at the camera. That particular mature deer did not seem to be camer shy in the least. As I have mentioned in the past, this deer was found by a friend early in the spring hooked up with another nice deer. Both were 150's class bucks. I had muchhigher scoringdeer to hunt but would have gladly put a tag on this old warrior, even if it was my only tag.

Is it just me, or is that buck missing an ear?

He reminds me of BigJ71. I could just see that buck staring at the camera with an eyebrow cocked.:D

He was a pig, I mentioned before, but my only rule for the friends that I let hunt was that we had to put that deer on a scale before field dressing. I was so curious to see what he would weigh. I always felt like he would top the 300# mark. Maybe, he was too short in the body to make that weight but big none the less.

HuntingBry, both of his ear tips had been frozen off so they were very short and round. For that reason I always called this deer 'Bear'.

Here is a better angle to show his goofy ears.
