I've only got until September 1st!!! I'm chomping hard. We went and glassed the bean field at my farm yesterday afternoon and counted 20 different deer!

You left out a very important choice... "I'm in PANIC MODE". I'm seeing no deer in the fields where I can hunt except a couple does and fawns. I can drive up the road 6 miles and watch two magestic beast every night with a little spike with them. These guys are already outside their ears. NOPE, the landowners has relatives that hunt it. All I can do is drool.[&:][:'(]:(:(:(:( I've even left the private land where the poachers rule at night and am looking at some public state land. I'm narrowing it down. It's about 1/4 mile from where the two big bucks roam. I'm in Panic Mode I'm telling you. I went walking my woods the other day and found a stand that I believe the neighboring land owner put up right near a favorite spot of mine. I'm in Panic Mode I tell ya.

If you're only a quarter mile away from those big boy's, you're close enough during the rut.;)

The night hunters/jacklighters will get them long before the rut arrives.[:@][&:] Plus withthe lay of the land and the fields I don't expect to see them on the state land. My quarter mile estimate is a little on the short side. Probably closer to a good half to 3 quarters.

I'm usually in constant whitetail mode as soon as the turkey season ends! It's all consuming and nearly all I ever think about. In my life there are basically only 3 seasons of the year,.... Deer season, Turkey season, and getting ready/waiting for DEER season! :)

I have been getting more ancy every day, I I have been looking for MR. BIGBOY again and only seen him once. Soon the others will show them selves and then I will be chomping the bit.

I'll start glassing bean field in about 2 weeks in the evenings. It's my first chance to do so, ever. Never had access to them, before.

Game cam goes out, tomorrow in my normal hunting spot. It'll be like "Christmas" when I check it in 2 weeks.

I'm excited right now but it's a long way until October. My birthday is the end of August and that's usually when the excitement really starts to build.
