It looks like a small buck, but I could tell better if you'd ask it to stick its head out for the next picture.:D

RE: Is this a buck or a doe?

easy way to find out. I know your looking at that black thing sticking up from its head. Well go stand where the camera is. Look exactly that direction. That black thing is either 1. antler. or 2. theres a sappling behind the deer. Only you can tell us if its a buck or a doe. Go investigate the landscape from where the camera is.

If i had to guess, I'd say buck bc I dont see the sappling underneath his jaw or head. But thats not to be 100%

I don't see anyway that anyone here can say if that is a buck or doe. Eitherway it seems to be a bit small.

Well not really, it's the size of the Tarsel Gland IMO that makes this deer a buck;)

GMMAT 07-16-2008 07:44 AM

RE: Is this a buck or a doe?

I'm trying to learn something here.

The doe in my photo is a yearling (probably) and won't go 100#'s soaking wet (more like 80).

I can check for larger doe photos.....but she's more the "norm" than the exception, here.

Are you saying that deer in the Ridgefactor referenced photo IS a buck.....based solely on the tarsal gland size? I'm just curious. The deer in the original photo looks to be a youngin, also. I have no idea, actually.

I'm calling BS on that Germ.

OK that is cool, Like I said IMO bucks have a larger tarsel gland, being they are bigger in body size.
