I was just curious who of you on here rifle hunt as well as bow and the percentage between the two. I personally just started so I would say that I am 75% rifle the past year and 25% bow but I plan on making that about 60bow/40rifle over the next year or so. Rifles will always hold a special spot for me but I have been bitten by the bow bug and I have not been this eager for upcoming seasons since I was a kid!

In the past I was the same as you. The last couple of years I have only taken my rifle out once and my muzzleloader 3-5 times. So I guess you could say I'm 95% bow/10% gun

I will hunt with what ever is in season, a fine shot gun, an accurate rifle or a well tuned bow I put no limitations on my love of the outdoors and all of the game that is available to hunt.:)

Well we only have 6 days to shotgun hunt nere in NJ so id say im 90%bow hunting and 10% gun. During the gun season i just go duck hunting:D

I have gotten to the point, I bowhunt - still kinda funny when it is calm and quiet and the rifles go off around you during gun season -

I almost always take my rifle when I take my 7 year old. I take my muzzleloader for a few days and the rest is archery. I would say I'm 70% archery, 20% rifle, 10% muzzlelader.

I won't rule anything out, though. Just haven't been bitten by the gun thing. I've taken turkeys with the shotgun in the past....but even that holds no interests for me, now.

I'm sure gun hunting is greatfor those who choose to go that route. I just have zero interest.

100% bow...switched over to bow only in 2005 and haven't looked back.

We only have two different season 1: Archery Only 2: General Season (Any legal weapon). The last 11 years I have been 100% archery even through the general season, however the last two years my 7 year old daughter started wanting to hunt with me some, when she goes I hunt with a rifle and last year she took a spike with a rifle. During the last two years 95% Archery, 5% Gun....

Probably 50/50. I had a pretty bad hunting accident while bowhunting in 2000....keeping a bow out of my hands for a few years. I forsee in the next 2 years that it will be 90% bowhunting....not 100% because I love to shoot the ML.

Well considering our bow season is MUCH longer than our gun season, and even longer in special regs areas, Broken down in hours, it’s probably 95%-5%. There were years I tagged out before rifle season, and sat it out completely, but with the generous tag allotments anymore, I try to keep at least one or 2 tags open to head out with my handgun or shotgun. What can I say, I like shooting deer.

I was 50/50 from the time I got my first hunting license in 1964 until 1983 when my guns got stolen. 100% bow since then. But this year I have to switch to crossbow and I built a new muzzleloader, so I think I'll probably be back to 50/50.

I hunt with what ever is in season, bow season here last 3-4 months, regualr gun season is 9 days, then they have the antlerless hunts, and eradication hunts, its cwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy

For Deer: 95% Bow/5% Muzzle loader. I have 2 landowner tags each year and use one during bow and then go out on last day with muzzleloader to see if I can put more meat in the freezer.
Turkey: So far (2nd year hunting Toms, 100 shotgun)
Pheasant: 100% shotgun
Coyote: 100% Rifle

i only took my rifle out in the middle of the day when we were pushing draws and stuff, even durin gun season i take my bow so i would say 95-96%bow 4-5%gun

Going by last year, I spent about 15 hours in the woods with a rifle and somewhere in the neighborhood of 250hours in the woods with a bow. I guess that makes it around 94% bow and 6% gun.

.5% Shotgun hunter (no rifles allowed in my zone) and 99.5% bowhunter. Weonly have two, two day slug hunts and I sometimes will slughunt 1 day out of the 4, but most of the time I still just bowhunt even during slug season.

Actually, the other .45% is done with a blow gun;)But thanks for correcting my math. I worked about 25 hours this weekend in 96 degree temps and a heat index of 108-110in a burned out house with no electricity and I am still suffering a little from lack of sleep and extreme dehydration.

Wow, I'm a little shocked that some of you don't gun hunt. I hunt with whatever weapon is in season. Here in Oklahoma bow season runs from October 1st -Jan 15th. I have plenty of opportunity to get one with a bow, so I hunt muzzleloader and gun season.

Plus, in many cases the deer have been out of bow range, but hunting with my gun it was not a problem.

How many of you guys miss opportunities because you only bowhunt??? I guess some will say that is the reason they bowhunt, but my reason is to nail a deer.Actually only one of my buddies bowhunts, the rest of them only gun hunt. Oh well.. to each his own.

I'm probably about 85% bow 15% gun. I don't gun hunt all that much anymore. Usually just 2 or 3 times during gun season and maybe a couple of times late season. That's usually about it.
