The Abino/Melanistic thread got me thinking. ( I know that's dangerous)

1. If the opportunity presented itself and a 150" 10 point chased a Melanistic (pure black like the photo) doe into your setup, you had a buck and a doe tag.

Which would you shoot?

I thought about and I'd honestly take the doe. In my lifetime I've never seen one and obviously a rarer trophy than a 150" buck.

2. Which would you choose between a 150" 10 point and an albino doe? I'd take the doe.

3. Which would you choose between a 150" 10 point and a 100" white/but not albino buck? I'd take the 100" white buck.

A 150" buck is a slammer no doubt, but around here it isn't that once in a lifetime trophy, many are dropped locally every year with much bigger ones as well. A black or white deer at least for my area, is an opportunity of many lifetimes.....much rarer than a big buck.

Around here a 150" buck IS a trophy of a lifetime......but I'd still choose the same ones you did, Rob.

Those are tough questions. I'm kinda torn about 1&2. I would shoot the 150" in #3 hoping I would get a chance at the 100"er in a few years.

Different colors don't really excite me that much.

The 150 incher is getting my arrow.

If I had a bunch of 150+ bucks on my wall...my answer might be different...but I can't pass on a buck of that caliber.

At the point I am at right now, I don't see myself passing up a 150" buck for any logical reason.

For me.. I would take the 150" buck.. without exception.

I mean it would be cool to have a black doe under my belt.. but I'm the kinda person who would rather leave the flower in bloom rather than pick it.

The white buck too. An animal like that will get a pass if it were 180"... I just would not be able to release on such a rarity. Plus.. my wife would definately not let a white buck get mounted on my walls[&:].. it would scare the cupcakes out of her.

A doe is a doe is a doe but 150 inch buck is very rare find. I killing the buck in any case.

10 point in all cases. We don't have 150 inch deer running around here. It would win all the big buck contest and make the front page of every paper. LOL I'm gong for beef and bone.

id shoot the 150 buck, thats a trophy to me, and since thedoe is in or going into heat theres a good chance i would see her again in the future.

The only one I would be interested in as a Trophy would be the 150 incher. A doe ia a doe and I couldn't see spending the money on a Full mount, so all I'd have would be pics.

I may not just hunt for the Antlers, but I can eat them regardless of color;)

Those does could have $500 Cabela's gift cards stapled to their ears and I'm still shooting the 150" bucks........;)

The 100" white buck?.......that's a little tougher, but since I now have 2 more 150" bucks on the wall after passing up those colored does I guess I can make room for the white buck. :D

I guess I meant to say it would be great to get something I've never seen before. The only deer I've ever seen are the plain old every day brown ones.

Oh yeah...... I'd like to get a black squirrel too! Those I have seen........ in town.

I would take the does or the 100 class buck every time. unless i was still trying to get my first bow deer under my belt then i would take the 150 class 10 pt. i dont know if i would shoot them if they were fawns though.

As for me....I shoot the the colored girls and gals before the 150...and I dont have anything close to a 150 on any wall.

I'm probably going to shoot the 150"er in all cases. However I reserve my right to shoot either of the does if they move me enough having them standing in front of me that it changes my mind.

Honestly , I wouldnt shoot either doe or the 100 inch even if the 150 were not present. I dont really have any interest in a doe mount. It would seem like a waste to take something that rare and not preserve it . As for the 100 inch buck, I'd shoot him with the video camera and hope to see him again as a 150.

I think it was bred into me. I just have a thing for "special" does. I couldn't shoot one. Call me a pansie... everyone else does:D

I would shoot the melanistic doe first, and then since my guardian is so quiet I would knock another arrow and down the 150" Buck.;):DSame with the second example. Then the last situation I would let the 150 walk to grow to a 170, and shoot the white doe since I already have 2-150s down.:D

Seriously tho, I would love to just see all of these in the wild while hunting. Getting a shot at them would just be a bonus.
