Default Moultrie I-40 Trail Cam (Battery Life)

HNI buddies

Looking for some truth on this. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a Moultrie I-40.... Is it true that the (6 D Cell Batteries will run for as much as 150 days??) Thats what the add says anyway.

In the dead of winter this I-40 will have long battery life? Bitter Cold with D Cell?

Please let me know...I need clarification that this cam is not using an external source to produce these results....before I buy...

I had to hook a 12V external to my Stealth Cam to get a month. Thanks.

MW

My first set lasted from the first weekend in October to the first weekend in January with temps in the single digits at times.

The battery life on the I-40's is very good. But batteries do not do good intemps under 20 degrees for extended periods of time. That's when I put in a good set of rechargeables that are capable of handling the weather better incold temps.

I just set out two brand-new D-40s yesterday. I'm hoping for similar results as I've heard the same reports about those as well.

Greg I can tell you from personal experience, the D40s are hit or miss. The I40/M40 is a much better camera.

NOW you tell me, Mike! [8D]

Nah, I couldn't pass up the price on these babies, and seeing as how my last camera was a 35mm Stealth which ate batteries faster than my dog can chew up a rib bone, I figured anything would make me happy. Stil, I hope I got some good ones.

I'm getting 5-7000 pics and about 6 weeks off a set of batteries in my D40's. It's a highly active site though, I bet they would last longer if it wasn't sitting over a corn feeder. [8D]
