Genetics, Genetics, minerals, corn, they dont shoot them up with anything. Just specific breeding etc.

I would never hunt a pen raised deer, but I’d love to get one of them to breed a few does on my farm, it would be awesome genetics to introduce!!!

My brother in law owns a deer farm. He feeds protien and soybeans. He does have some mineral licks out too but thats all. He currently owns 37 deer. His best buck will probably be in the 225" area this year. That is a 2 1/2 YO that he callas Big Boy.
He is about to buy another 20 acres adjacent to his land. He will then high fence it and sell "hunts" of his cull bucks for VERY LARGE $$. A cull buck is going to be any 2 1/2 YO that doesn't make 150".
This same guy, My brother in law and friend, whines about the high price of hunting in Tx. He cries about the cost of a decent lease. He then blames outfitters. I try to tell him he has himself to blame for wanting to profit from big inches of antler. He says no hes just a farmer selling to ranches and other breeders. He can't see the forest for the trees. The man is blinded by profit and living in denial. I guess he doesn't think those ranches sell hunts of his 200" farm raised deer. They must just keep them around for the genetics!

Holy moly

We have now succeeded in producing 200” yearlings and 300” two and three year olds along with one 400” four year old. Prices start at $35,000.00 per fawn.

My brother in law dreams of the day his deer will command that kind of price.
