Gamecams - Anyone else "just" getting ready?

Mine are all out now. I putmost of my cameras on field edges so I dont go into the woods and or bedding areas when changing cards and putting corn out once every 10 days or so. This has worked well over the years in that most of the bucks have stuck around. This probably wouldnt be the case if I was continually marching in and out of bedding and travel routes. Its been an easy and quick way to sneak in and out, and inventory the bachelor bucks coming out in the fields when they arent pressured duringthe summermonths.Smelling human scent on field edges is much different than smelling scent where they feel safe and protected, and where I plan on setting up later in the season.

I leave them out this time of year while they are in velvet and in "batchelor herds". Then I remove them and put them up VERY close to where I plan to set up a stand, to see what dominant buck claimed the area once they have shed velvet and are in hard antler.

I have all 4 of mine out and I check them about every week to 10 days. They are in areas were we have cattle and the deer get used to the4 wheelers going in and out to check them. I run my cameras almost all year. The only time I take them down is for our 3 week long spring turkey season and our 9 day deer season.

I have had mine out for three weeks now. Found one guy that I wasn't aware of....His rack in a way resembles your "Bull" Jeff with less mass. The way that it grows up.

Kinda cool the difference in growth between these two....ya I know I have the am and pm mixed on my camera. The block in the backround is an Antler King Protein block.

On a side note...even though I use it, I think it would be better off in this state if it was made illegal. At least starting Sept 1.

To the original topic.....I have only have two out right now because I left my memory cards in WI. Good thing they are coming up tomorrow so I can get the other 5 out.

I put mine out a couple weeks ago, had 82 pictures on it in 2 weeks time. Doesn't bother the deer at all. Don't forget, most deer aren't mainly deep in the woods now but near the fields. Action will pick up later.
