Whats the advantage of a string loop over a regular metal D loop?
about 5 FPS, less wear on your release and serving

Does the rope release get you any draw length back or is it just more fail proof?

Bobco, I use the rope release for hunting and have taken two bucks in three seasons. I can put it on in a matter of a split second without looking at the string, and any opportunities that I have had and lost has not been a release problem.

2drop, I don' t think there is any difference in draw length with a rope release compared to caliper. When I switched to a release from fingers the guy at the pro shop said the rope was easier on bow strings at 60# or more, back then it probably was true but today I don' t think the caliper release is detrimental to your string. I still shoot the Fletchmatic (better known as Flinchmatic). I have just stayed with it over the years.
