Nothing like beginners luck is there GMMAT!!
Like I said, AR....I don't care what you call it. If you wanna call shooting mature bucks "luck".....then I'm OK with that, too.

Or did you mean....just for "me"?

Jeff about 18 years ago I got my step Dad into hunting.

He had first 5 years that I envy[&:]

Year 1 12 pointer(gun)
Year 2 2 big 8's opening morning with bow
Year 3 132'' 8 point(gun)
Year 4 Great 7 point(bow)
Year 5 Another Great 8 point(bow)

Year 6-13 blanked, the hunting change on our farm, more pressure.

The secret is keeping a good spot a secret If folks start to see or hear about the mature deer you are taking it might get a bit crowed.

You keep hammering those does, you'll keep pace on your current trend. We let the does get away from us[&:] When I started hunting our land it was real easy, I was the first bowhunter ever, I wish I could have those days back[&:] I educated a lot of deer[8D]

I have killed exactly one mature (3 1/2)buck in my hunting career, and he was just mature. I can honestly say I've only seen one buck in Alberta that wasn't mature. I can't say that about where I hunt in Pa. I will just say I have average knowledge on the subject.

I meant in general, an not the bowtech general.

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't consider a 3.5 year old to be a mature whitetail,I would say a 5.5 year or older to be mature, not to say that a 3.5 year old is easy just not what I would really consider mature, and JEFF not trying to take anything away from your bucks I too am very proud of a few 3.5 year old bucks that I have killed over the years.

No problem, Trey. I'm only going by what the top biologists say. I was just watching Alsheimer on a QDMA rerun, last night talking about this.

It really makes no difference, to me....but I don't think it's up for debate, honestly. The top bios say a 3.5yr old is the line of demarcation.

If you think it's 5.5, for you......you're entitled to your opinion. No problems!

I didn't see 110% so I couldn't HONESTLY vote. I just know I forgot more than Greg H knows.
That's gospel so it demands respect!

I think there should be a choice called, "I know more than GMMAT" or "I know more than "GregH". LOL ORRRRRRRRRR.... "I know less than GMMAT" or "I know less the GregH". Hunting mature deer is no problem... if you have some to hunt. LOL
