Well, this is a special year for me because I get to go on 2 elk/mule deerhunts with my father. The first is to CO where we have always hunted. The 2nd is to Montana. I am looking forward to both equally as much. I truly just hope that my dad is able to take a nice bull or two. I don't care if I get nothing.

Let’s get an upbeat post going, because I know anyone who does have a trip planned is probably more than excited, even with summer half way to go.

For me it’s 80 days until I step on a plane for my 8 day Idaho elk hunt.
I don’t know if my “trips” to Ohio count. I’ll be running back and forth most every weekend during the season.

So let’s here the where, for what and for how long?
You're taking your traditional gear I hope.

I have a Wisconsin Whitetail trip planned again this year.

Just three trips to Illinois this year:

1 in Late October to S. Illinois (Archery Whitetail 5 days)
1 in November to West Central Illinois (Archery Whitetail 5 days)
1 in December to S. Illinois (Combo Muzzleloader and Archery Whitetail 11 days)

The rest of the time I'll be in GA 20 miles from the house.

In October, my wife Casi and I are headed to Ontario to deer hunt with my buddy Dan (_Dan). We're really excited. It'll be my 1st out hunt deer outside of the state of KS.

Yeah, but with bucks like that one in your avatar in KS why go anywhere else?

Good luck on the trip!

You bet. Actually I will have both bows with me. Choice will be made depending on if we are headed to the woods or more open areas.
